Lithuanian Financial Brokers Association
The inaugural meeting of Lithuanian Financial Brokers Association (LFMA) took place on 28th of September, 1993, less than a month after trading on the National Stock Exchange began. The first president of the Association was Kazimieras Liepis, CEO of brokerage firm “Izdas”. The director of association was appointed Tomas Andrejauskas, a representative from brokerage firm “Suprema”. Later association presidents were Petras Šlekys from Alterna Invest, Romas Matiukas from Sinkus, Algimantas Variakojis from „Finasta“, and Marius Dubnikovas from „Jūsų tarpininkas“.
Current president is Alius Jakubėlis, CEO of Orion Securities.
The Association management bodies are General Meeting of Members of the Association, the Association Board and the Executive Directorate. Association members are brokerage companies, banks and their branches.
The Association is actively involved in the development of the securities market regulatory environment, trading, accounting and settlement systems, cooperates with the Securities Commission, Vilnius Stock Exchange, the Lithuanian central securities depository and other government institutions.
The Association promotes warm and friendly relations among members. During informal meetings members can interact with each other, share new ideas and celebrate achievements.
